Basketball has always been part of our lives. We grew up playing it, and we still do.

Today, that same love for the game continues through coaching, community, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Cold School was founded in Chicago by Marlowe Soriano and Jeff Masangcay. Like so many players, we fell in love with basketball during the 90s and early 2000s.

That era shaped who we became as players—and eventually inspired the brand we wanted to build.

Cold School isn't about chasing trends. It's about documenting the game we still live every day.

Basketball has taken us far beyond playing.

Jeff continues to compete while raising his children through the AAU basketball world.

Outside the game, he founded Bata Sole, a nonprofit organization that collects new and gently used shoes and delivers them to underserved communities around the world.

Through Bata Soldiers, basketball became another way to serve—creating opportunities for young athletes while supporting families and communities through the game.

Marlowe still plays while coaching youth basketball through Triumph Hoops Academy, where he serves as Co-Founder and Head Coach.

He also serves as Co-Director of the Niles West Junior Wolves feeder program, helping build a long-term pathway for young players who love the game.

Basketball has never been just what happens between the lines.
